Ouch. Torrentday is a vital cog in the Hermit entertainment machine. Taking the fucker down a few weeks before Christmas is an offence to the season of goodwill.
Anyone (Alan), know a way round it or a decent alternative?

That mean High Court has robbed us of Seedpeer recently too, so I'm also on the lookout for something newer and better. And allowed.

I'm just going to install a VPN and see if that works. The site still works on my mobile EE, but not much good to me on my phone I think.

There are usually hundreds of mirrors for blocked/ closed down sites. I still use ThePirateBay amongst others.

@Hemrit: I've been using them for a few years now, great speeds 'specially on the top tier virgin broadband.
What do you use? I've just managed to set up a sweet HT system using a £10 now tv box and a 6 year old mac mini using PLEX.

I'm not going to lie, I don't think I understood hardly any of that last sentence.
I've been using Torrentday since Alan gave the heads up on here about 5 or 6 years ago. As you say, fantastic speeds. I normally just download to my computer, whack it onto a memory stick and plug it into the telly.

Ok, I love this shit, and I'm pretty sure someone may have a better set up, but this is what works for me.
Plex is fucking brilliant! https://plex.tv
Install that on your computer, follow the instructions, it acts as a media server and index all the media (torrents) on your computer and makes them available to any device on your home wifi (but requires the computer to always be on)
This extends to the £10 Sky Now TV box that plugs into your TV via HDMI (with a little bit of persuasion)
http://www.engadget.com/2014/04/08/sky-now-tv-plex/
You can also get PLEX on most 'smart tv's' or if you pockets are a bit deeper get a roku box.
https://www.roku.com
I've been through dozens of different set ups, inc. android boxes xvmc etc. and found this to be the best. best thing is the is also a channel now available for all premier games if you have the right subscription from the right place . . .

Re: Torrentday

@welshiron, If it only works in 'off road mode' then chances are it's cached in that browser. Chances are you won't be able to download from there.
